Vert 101 + Fever Dream Movie

Agosto aproxima-se, umas semanas de praia e sol pelo costa Algarvia face à falta de ondas cá para cima. No entanto, nem tudo são más notícias, o próximo número da Vert está para sair a meio do próximo mês e com ele vem uma novidade que certamente não serei o único ansioso. Quanto à revista, não há muito a dizer, espero que este número continue com a mesma qualidade de tantos outros e a primeira revista após cem edições seja um começo para mais uma centena. Quanto ao filme que será distribuído em conjunto com este número trata-se de Fever Dream. Sendo o último lançamento da Zion e até agora o melhor. Filmado e editado por Ryan Mattick e James Kates, que têm vindo a satisfazer os desejos dos espectadores em todas as suas produções. Este filme é uma visão do inverno Australiano com ondas incriveis, surf inspirador e algumas das melhores filmagens até hoje, com rider como: Thom Robinson, Joe Clarke, Jase Finaly, Same Bennett, James Kates, Bendon Backshall, Chris James, Ben Player e James Cayley.

August is approaching, a few weeks of beach and sun at the Algarve coast bacause of the lack of waves up here. However, not all bad news, the next number of Vert is about to leave in the middle of next month and with it comes a surprise that i will certainly not be the only anxious. As for the magazine, there's not much to say, i hope this number will continue with the same quality of so many others after one hundred and that this first magazine after a hundred of them is a start for a hundred more. As for the film that will be released in conjunction with this number, it's Fever Dream. This is the latest movie from Zion, and finest yet. Filmed and edited by Ryan Mattick and James Kates, a creative duo with brains and bite. This film is an insight into an Australian winter with incredible waves, inspirational surfing and some of the finest filming in years. Featured riders; Thom Robinson, Joe Clarke, Jase Finlay, Sam Bennett, James Kates, Brendon Backshall, Chris James, Ben Player and last but certainly not least James "kootdog" Cayley.

Se não fosse um grande amigo de infância, provavelmente nem saberia que em portugal havia bons riders de inline. Muitos de vocês provavelmente nem farão a mínima ideia que não é só do skate e do bmx que os skateparks vivem. Tenho o privilégio de fazer parte de uma equipa onde se incluem dois excelentes inliners, sendo eles Diogo Albuquerque e Martim Teixeira. Não ficando indiferente ao que se publica na internet e no youtube, tento-me manter um mais tuned possível. Prova disso é uma edição que foi para o ar, recentemente, de um grupo de amigos que destroiem por qualquer sitío que passam com um par de patins calçados.

If it was not a great childhood friend, probably i would not know that in Portugal there are good inliners. Many of you probably will not have a clue that is not only with skateboarding and bmx that skateparks survive. I am privileged to be part of a team which includes two excellent inliners, and they are Diogo Albuquerque and Martim Teixeira Martim. Since it was not indifferent to me what is published on the internet and youtube in particular, i try to keep me tuned. Proof of this, is a great movie that had been edited recently with a group of friends who destroy any place they go with a pair of skate shoes.

Começando nos 15 e terminando nos 18 anos, achei por bem deixar aqui a marca de jovens talentos que cruzam as nossas águas, seja nas ilhas, seja no continente, seja por onde for. Não me venham dizer que em Portugal não há talento, o apoio é que é pouco ou nenhum, para que este pessoal consigo deixar uma marca mais forte neste desporto, que cativa cada vez mais, um sem fim, número de pessoas. Para além de excelentes free-surfers, todos eles procuram os melhores resultados em todas as competições que particpam, correndo sempre para alcançar os lugares do topo. António Cardoso nasceu em 1992, Pedro Correia em 1991, Daniel Fonseca em 1993 e por último, o mais novo, Rodrigo Rijo em 1995.

Beginning in the 15th and ending at 18 years, i felt like leaving here the mark of young talents that cross our waters, either on islands or in the continent. Do not tell me that in Portugal there is no talent, the support is little or none, so that riders can leave a stronger mark in the sport that captivates increasingly an endless number of people. In addition to excellent free-surfers, they all seek the best results in all competitions to be featured, always running to reach the top places. Tow Out

No meio de tanto o que este desporto tem para nos dar, sento-me em frente ao computador e pesquiso por tudo o que são novidades, desde contratacções, materiais lançados, viagens, filmes, e algo que me chama a atenção, já há bastante tempo, é uma variante do bodyboard que vem a ganhar adeptos pelo mundo fora e em Portugal não é excepção.

"Para o Campeão da Europa de Bodyboard, o atleta da Costa de Caparica Hugo Pinheiro, foi amor à primeira vista. Ou antes, à primeira experiência. Quando viajou em 2006 até à Austrália para disputar o Campeonato do Mundo de Bobyboard, Hugo Pinheiro estava longe de imaginar o impacto que esta participação acabaria por ter na sua carreira. O tow out é nada mais nada menos que uma explosão de adrenalina auxiliada por uma mota de água. Geralmente praticado em beach breaks pela sua quota parte de perigoso, do outro lado do globo já são os muitos que se atiram a grandes velocidades para ondas perfeitas a quebrarem sobre lajes afiadas. No meio disto tudo, paro para pensar - mas afinal, quais são os nossos limites enquanto praticantes desta modalidade?

Between so much of what this sport has to give us, i sit at the computer and search for news, contracts, upcoming boards, movies and something that catches my attention for a long time ago is a variant of bodyboard that is gaining athletes around the world and Portugal is no exception.

The tow out is nothing less than an explosion of adrenaline helped by a jet ski. Usually practiced on the beach breaks its share of dangerous, across the globe are already many who throw themselves at high speeds for perfect waves breaking on the sharp reefs. Through it all, i stop to think - what are our limits as bodyboarders?

Francisco Almeida Horta nasceu em Lisboa a 25 de Agosto de 1990, actualmente é ai que reside para estudar na FMH, Ciências do Desporto - Ramo Exercício e Saúde. Durante o fim de semana encontra-se nas Caldas da Rainha. Começou a praticar bodyboard aos 15 anos e é ao longo da costa oeste que surfa sempre que pode e as condições o permitem.

Francisco Almeida Horta was born in Lisbon on 25th August 1990, actually living there for studying in FMH University, Sports Science – Exercise and Health. During the weekend he usually be at his home place in Caldas da Rainha. Started bodyboarding at the age of 15 and is all-over central-west coast that he surfs every time is possible and conditions looks good.
